According to a detailed report published by Legit NG, the eviction was carried out by court bailiffs attached to the Federal High Court, acting on the strength of a writ of possession allegedly signed on August 15, 2025. The bailiffs, accompanied by security personnel, reportedly stormed the mansion located at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street, enforcing the order which also affected Ali Baba’s company, XQZMOI TV.

The report further revealed that Ali Baba originally acquired the mansion in 2021 through the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria b for the sum of ₦220 million. The sale was part of AMCON’s recovery process involving properties linked to companies allegedly indebted to Nigerian banks. In this particular case, AMCON claimed that the property was tied to the financial liabilities of Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited.

However, the situation quickly became complicated as Harold Expansion Industries strongly disputed AMCON’s claims. Through their legal counsel, Benjamin Olayiwola Sadibo, the company insisted that they had already made repayments and that the sale of the mansion was improper and unlawful. They further maintained that the Federal High Court’s possession order was unjust and that the property should never have been sold in the first place.

This development has now placed Ali Baba in the middle of a heated legal dispute, with questions being raised about the legitimacy of his ownership and whether the veteran comedian was a victim of a larger corporate battle. The situation has drawn mixed reactions from the public, with some sympathizing with him while others have demanded transparency about the purchase and his knowledge of the dispute surrounding the mansion.

Despite the swirling news and online conversations, neither Ali Baba nor his management team have released an official statement addressing the reported eviction or clarifying his current housing situation. This silence has further fueled speculations, leaving fans and industry watchers eager to see how the story unfolds in the coming days.

The matter underscores the growing number of high-profile property disputes linked to AMCON’s debt recovery strategy, raising broader questions about due diligence, asset ownership, and the fate of third parties caught up in such legal tussles.
