Reality TV star, Phyna, has taken to social media to criticise Dangote Group over the N20 million compensation her family allegedly received following the tragic death of her sister, Ruth, in Edo State. She expressed anger and frustration, claiming that the amount was far below what she deemed appropriate considering her sister’s lifetime needs and the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Gistreel recalls that in August, Phyna’s sister was involved in a horrific accident where she was crushed by a Dangote truck. The incident left her with severe injuries, including the loss of limbs, and she remained comatose until her passing at the end of the month. The tragedy sparked widespread condolences and sympathy from Nigerians online.

Following the accident, Phyna demanded that Dangote compensate her family with one billion naira, citing the seriousness of her sister’s injuries and the extensive medical care required. However, many Nigerians online considered her demand unrealistic and criticized her for being too ambitious in her financial expectations.

Phyna’s Anger Over N20 Million Payment

In a recent social media statement, Phyna revealed that Dangote Group allegedly negotiated with her family and offered N20 million, which she described as insulting and insufficient. She emphasised that her sister’s medical expenses, funeral costs, and lifetime needs far exceeded the amount given, and expressed deep disappointment over the handling of the matter.

Allegations Against Dangote Group

Phyna went further to make serious allegations against the Dangote Group, claiming that the company allegedly instructed the hospital where her sister was admitted to administer substances that could hasten her death. She suggested that the company was allegedly concerned about the potential medical expenses and sought to minimize financial liability at any cost.

She said in part: “My mind is telling me Dangote Group and company told Lagoon hospital to inject my sister so she will die. If I calculate wetin my sister don chop from when she dey baby class to this Auchi Poly wey she just finished, wetin be 20 million Naira?”

Phyna also shared her frustration over how the compensation negotiation was handled, saying she was shocked and enraged when she found out about the N20 million offer. She highlighted the financial burdens she had already incurred in handling her sister’s remains and medical arrangements, stating that she had spent hundreds of thousands herself to remove her sister from the mortuary.

She added: “I don’t know who made that negotiation since na then open their mouth ask. When I found out about the 20 million I was so pissed. Removing my sister from the mortuary I paid hundreds of thousands. Dangote I don’t do online ranting. I go say what I want to say, Una go arrest me tire. Before them burn like 15 of your trailer, you go carry me. Until my sister died before FRSC posted something, those clout chasers…”

Phyna’s statements have generated considerable attention online, with many social media users reacting to her claims and the alleged mishandling of her sister’s accident by a major corporate entity. Her post has reignited debates around corporate responsibility, compensation, and accountability in cases of accidents involving large companies.
