In a lengthy post shared via his official social media pages, the former presidential aide emphasized that virginity remains a symbol of purity, discipline, and value in a world where morality and commitment are rapidly fading.

Reno Omokri, who is known for his outspoken views on relationships, family, and faith, explained that virginity plays a crucial role in forming deep emotional, spiritual, and physical bonds in marriage, making it the ultimate foundation of loyalty and trust between partners.

Reno Omokri explains why virginity matters

According to Omokri, when a woman enters marriage as a virgin, she contributes a level of purity and connection that enhances her husband’s respect, strengthens intimacy, and promotes long-term stability in the relationship.

He argued that unlike material possessions or beauty, virginity represents sacrifice, moral strength, and emotional preservation, all of which contribute to the sacredness of marriage.

Omokri went on to state that while modern society may undervalue virginity, the act of self-discipline that comes with preserving it carries more weight than any physical or financial offering a woman can bring into a union.

Reno Omokri advises women to resist peer pressure

The motivational speaker further cautioned young women against succumbing to societal or peer pressure that mocks the idea of waiting until marriage, stressing that such ridicule often comes from those who secretly envy the values they undermine.

Drawing from Yoruba cultural wisdom, he referenced the phrase “Erin Ika,” meaning laughter without joy, to describe how people who mock chastity are often masking inner emptiness or regret.

He urged ladies to stay steadfast in their moral convictions and to take pride in their decision to maintain purity, as the benefits—spiritually and emotionally—far outweigh temporary acceptance from peers.

Full statement from Reno Omokri

Sharing his thoughts, Omokri wrote:

“As long as a woman brings virginity to the table, she does not have to bring anything else physically to that relationship to make it stable. You, as a man, should bring the rest. The best gift your wife can give you is her virginity. Once she enters the marriage with that, that quality adds value to you physically, spiritually and emotionally. The connection between you and her will be almost mystical.”

He continued:

“So, my counsel to young people out there, especially, but not exclusively, to females, is this: Keep your virginity until marriage. Your friends may laugh at you, but that laughter is without mirth. It is what the Lukumi Yoruba call Erin Ika.

You can be like them in one minute. But they can never be like you in one million light-years!”

Mixed reactions trail his statement

The post has since generated heated reactions online, with some social media users applauding his moral stance and others accusing him of promoting outdated gender expectations.

Supporters praised Omokri for upholding traditional values, saying that his message encourages self-respect, while critics argued that his view reinforces patriarchal double standards in modern relationships.

Despite the backlash, Reno Omokri maintained his position, stating that his message was not to shame anyone but to remind society of the enduring importance of personal discipline and purity.
