Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star, Tacha Akide, has stirred mixed reactions online after she commented on the recent disqualification of housemate Faith from the ongoing 2025 season of the reality show. The outspoken entrepreneur and media personality expressed her opinion that Faith’s removal from the house was justified, insisting that rules are meant to be respected by all contestants regardless of their fan base or popularity.
Tacha, who herself was disqualified during the 2019 edition of the show, stated that Big Brother’s decision to disqualify Faith was fair and consistent with the show’s long-standing rules on house conduct, particularly regarding violence or physical confrontation among contestants.
Tacha Defends Big Brother’s Decision
According to Tacha, the rules governing the BBNaija house are clear and straightforward, emphasizing that once a housemate crosses the line into physical aggression, disqualification is inevitable. She explained that every participant signs an agreement before entering the show, acknowledging the consequences of breaking Biggie’s rules.
“People may say Biggie was too harsh, but the truth is—rules are rules. Everyone knows what they signed up for,” she said. “Faith crossed a line that Big Brother couldn’t overlook. If you can’t respect the house rules, then you have to face the outcome.”
Tacha also noted that Faith’s attitude during his diary session contributed to the decision. According to her, his lack of remorse and refusal to take responsibility for his actions likely influenced Biggie’s judgment. “If Faith had shown regret or apologized sincerely, perhaps Big Brother might have considered a different punishment, but his response showed defiance,” she added.
Reflecting on Her Own Experience
In her reflection, Tacha opened up about her own disqualification, explaining that it was a turning point in her life. Despite leaving the house early, she described the experience as a lesson that shaped her career, confidence, and mindset. “Yes, I was disqualified, but I still came out a winner,” she said. “Sometimes, setbacks prepare you for bigger comebacks. I used that moment to grow and build my brand.”
She suggested that Faith might be going through a similar stage, saying that bold personalities often find it difficult to control emotions in high-pressure environments like the BBNaija house. “Faith’s confidence is not a bad thing, but he must learn how to manage it better. The same fire that makes you strong can also burn you if not controlled,” she added.
Social Media Reactions
Following Tacha’s statement, social media platforms were flooded with reactions. While some fans supported her opinion and praised her for speaking honestly, others accused her of hypocrisy, arguing that she was once in Faith’s position and should have shown empathy instead.
Critics pointed out that Tacha had faced similar backlash during her time in the house, and therefore, she should have been more understanding of Faith’s situation. On the other hand, her supporters argued that her experience gives her the right to comment, as she understands firsthand the consequences of breaking Biggie’s rules.
Several users on X (formerly Twitter) shared mixed opinions, with some tagging her as “real and unapologetic,” while others labeled her “insensitive.” Despite the controversy, Tacha’s comments have once again sparked public discourse about the fairness of BBNaija’s disciplinary actions and how contestants are treated after the show.
