Elisha Abbo, has reportedly surrendered himself to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja after being accused of raping a 13-year-old secondary school student.
The shocking allegation was made public on social media, where an X (formerly Twitter) user, identified as Uncle Deji, claimed that the victim’s parents had spoken to journalists about the matter.
According to the family, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as Binani and a former governorship candidate in Adamawa State, allegedly visited their home.
They claimed she pleaded with them not to go public with the incident in order to protect Abbo from further scandal.
The parents further alleged that Abbo had repeatedly sent money to the girl’s father in what they described as efforts to silence the family and prevent the case from becoming public knowledge.
Deji claimed that sources close to the family disclosed that the alleged assault took place on 29th June 2025 at Abbo’s residence in Katampe, Abuja. The teenager was said to have been lured to the home before the incident occurred.
As of the time of filing this report, the former lawmaker was still being held at the FCID, where investigations are ongoing according to the source.
This is not the first time Abbo has been linked to controversy. In 2019, he was widely criticised after a viral video captured him physically assaulting a woman in a sex toy shop in Abuja. That incident led to his arrest and sparked nationwide outrage.
In addition, he has in the past faced allegations of blackmail, which involved a married woman and claims of a sex tape.
Public reactions to the latest development have been heated, with many Nigerians calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the young girl if the allegations are proven to be true.
