A Nigerian lady has sparked massive conversation online after revealing how she was charged an eye-watering sum of over ₦300,000 for a single hairstyle at a high-end salon in Lekki, Lagos.
The lady, identified on TikTok as @whothefucc, shared a video showing her final hairstyle alongside a bill that estimated the total cost at ₦316,340, dated September 4, 2025. The shocking price tag has since triggered widespread debate across social media platforms.

Although the receipt did not provide a detailed breakdown of what contributed to the massive bill, her video showcased the intricate hairstyle design and the amount of craftsmanship that went into completing the look. Many viewers, however, remained stunned, questioning how a hairstyle could possibly amount to such an extravagant figure.
The viral post quickly attracted thousands of reactions from Nigerians who expressed disbelief, humor, and criticism over the bill.
@𝓨𝓸𝓾𝓻_𝓑𝓪𝓫𝓮 inquired humorously: “You buy shares for the salon?😭😂”.
@HAIR VENDOR IN PORT HARCOURT wrote: “You didn’t ask them the price of the bundles before making your hair? It means you budgeted for it already.”
@Oyin also queried: “Dem put wisdom and understanding there?”
@mems_babyyy added jokingly: “Did you buy the bundles? Do your lashes? Do your nails? Do manicure and pedicure? Do massage? Do facials? Relax your hair? 😭😭😭😭”
Many others argued that luxury salons in upscale areas like Lekki often inflate prices, capitalizing on clients who may not inquire about costs beforehand. Some criticized the salon for alleged exploitation, while others claimed the lady should have clarified the price before committing.
Regardless of the divided opinions, the post has highlighted the growing discussion about Nigeria’s luxury lifestyle culture, where some are willing to pay extreme amounts for appearances, while others see it as wasteful spending.
