“Nigerians are everywhere on earth”

In a trending video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the young woman explained that it is nearly impossible to find any part of the world without Nigerians or people of Nigerian descent. She pointed out that Nigerians are deeply woven into the global population through migration, marriage, and cultural blending. According to her, everywhere one goes, it is likely that there will be someone who is either fully Nigerian or of mixed Nigerian heritage.

She said: “Guys, I’m not going to lie, as a fellow Nigerian — half Swedish, half Nigerian — I feel like one thing Nigerians do really well is repopulate this earth. There is almost every single mix of Nigerian that exists on this planet.”

“I believe Nigerians have mixed with every ethnicity”

The lady went further to insist that if someone told her Nigerians had intermarried with people from every nationality, she would not doubt it for a second. For her, the spread of Nigerians across the globe is undeniable and something that stands as proof of their resilience and global influence.

She added: “If someone tells me that there is Nigerian mix with South Koreans, or Nigerians with other nationalities, I will fully believe them. Nigerians have mixed with every ethnicity in one way or the other. Honestly, I’m convinced every ethnicity on earth has at least one Nigerian connection.”

Wrapping up her remarks, she stressed that Nigerians should not shy away from this reality but instead embrace it as a source of pride. “Nigerians need to applaud themselves because one thing Nigerians do best is to breed and repopulate the earth,” she concluded.

Reactions from Nigerians online

Her comments quickly went viral and ignited passionate debates across social media platforms. While some users laughed at the statement and took it as a lighthearted observation, others saw it as an oversimplification that ignored the many achievements of Nigerians worldwide.

Billpoint reacted: “Nigerians mix with many ethnic groups globally due to their large diaspora communities. From Europe to the Americas, Asia to the Middle East, you’ll find Nigerians forming new roots while maintaining their cultural identity.”

Adebanjo disagreed with the generalisation, saying: “We’ve proven time and again that we’re more than just numbers. In medicine, sports, education, entertainment, and technology, Nigerians are excelling everywhere.”

JP_CEO also weighed in with a controversial perspective: “In fact, it is not only Nigerians but black people generally who are known for multiplying fast. That was even one of the reasons our ancestors were taken as slaves — they were seen as strong baby producers.”

Other Nigerians joined the conversation, some defending her statement as a funny but factual take on Nigeria’s large population, while others urged people to focus on celebrating the global impact Nigerians have beyond reproduction.

Ongoing debate

The video continues to spark mixed opinions. Some people see her remark as an exaggeration meant to poke fun at Nigeria’s massive global population, while others interpret it as a serious reflection of how widespread Nigerians have become. Either way, it has drawn attention to the undeniable fact that Nigerians can be found in virtually every country, forming communities, raising families, and influencing cultures.
